“My name is Manju, I got married at a young age to Pulak and after the wedding we went to live with my mother-in-law. My husband works as a tailor and is the only member of our family who receives an income.

I got pregnant for the first time when I was 23 and at that time CINI was not yet present in my village. Early in my pregnancy I had some complications and was advised to rest in bed. Despite this, I was very weak until the time of delivery and was quite worried, especially when I learned that I would have to go through a caesarean section. However, the operation went well and Bebi was born, a beautiful and healthy baby!

A few years later, during my second pregnancy, CINI arrived in my village with the Adopt a mother and save her baby program. I had the opportunity to get to know him in detail, understanding the importance that this project has for mothers. The operators of CINI began to visit me regularly, they listened to my doubts and advised me on how to deal with small problems and complications. The operators organized training, awareness and information meetings with the other mothers of the village on health and nutrition issues, thanks to which I understood what I could and could not do during pregnancy.

The CINI operators advised me to go to the state hospital to undergo regular checkups and ultrasound scans, and they contributed to my medical expenses. During the various tests, I learned about my blood type and other important information that helped me prepare for the birth and experience it with less fear than the previous time.

I had to go through a second caesarean section, but everything went well and Gopal was born who is a lively and healthy baby. My baby and I are fine thanks to the help of CINI. I thank CINI for the things he taught me, the financial help and support and I hope that, like me, many other mothers can be supported and advised in the two most important and difficult moments of their life: pregnancy and childbirth. “
