CINI community workers in Murshidabad, West Bengal organised a meeting between the Government officials and local children and adolescents in February 2022.
The topic for discussion were early marriage, trafficking, child labour and abuse in the community.
Around 100 children and adolecents took part . We focused on giving these young people the time and space they need to speak up for their needs. Giving young people a voice in their community and ensuring this voice is listened to is key to transforming community confidence and ensuring young people have better expectations for their lives.
“We have been away from school for so long and many of us feel we are behind in our work. The poorest have not been able to keep up with their studying as they do not have gadgets and internet. We want CINI and the government people to help us with this”
